Trouser Muse: Katharine Hepburn

Finding the perfect pant can be quite the struggle.
Finding one that flatters your shape can be even more challenging.

When I think of the perfect pant, my mind immediately flees to the trouser muse herself, Katharine Hepburn. This may be because of my immense love for her movies but she always seemed to have gotten it right. Known for re-adjusting the popular men's style for women, she focused on cut, width, length and color in finding her preferred pant. I believe these designer looks above are great for the everyday woman who wants to jazz up her trouser style. Playing with prints and width are a fun and easy way to mix it up while staying in trend.

i AM a whistle blower

My 'Falling Whistle' given to me by my great friend, Cristina.
She was the first to open my eyes to this incredible campaign.
Thank you, Cristina, for giving me the most beautiful gift --> peace.

The Democratic Republic of Congo has been fighting a war with itself for years. Their unstable government, unreasonable local groups, increased sexual violence and with growing international interest for the Congo's natural resources, makes this our world's deadliest war.
Over 6 million have died and nearly 1,500 daily- including countless children

These whistles are our weapons to fight back.
Raise your voice for those who can't.

Please click Falling Whistles to learn more.
All proceeds go to rehabilitate and advocate for war-affected children.

Gwyneth Paltrow sports the whistle on a strip of ribbon.

Style Icon: Clémence Poésy

After viewing Chloé perfume ads in various high fashion magazines and commercials, it is no wonder why French actress, Clémence Poésy, is a spokeswoman. She is a beautiful epitome of classic and chic style. Her natural and simple elegance leaves us all in a state of wonder... a wonder questioning... "Shouldn't we all live like a French woman?"

(I mean really- French women spend their days strolling cobblestone streets, gazing at romantic architecture along La Seine, gossiping with fare beauties at local cafes and eating deliciously-intoxicating crepes... right?! Ok, this may be a stereotype... but hey, a girl can dream.)

Either way, Clémence Poésy's unique and effortless style brings my French daydream to life. Thank you for that Miss Poésy!

You've encouraged us all to... Dream on. ;)

Spring 2011: 'Mono-chromed' Looks

Miu Miu

Halston

Max Mara

Jil Sander

Prada

Costume National

Jenni Kayne

Proenza Schouler

A Spring trend I am definitely looking forward is mono-chromatic dressing!

From Miu Miu's electric red lady-like dress to Jenni Kayne's soft two-toned violet number... I absolutely love these looks. Leading designer Spring collections make this trend look pretty and easy

I especially like this trend because instead of going out and spending loads for these looks, you can save by shopping in your own closet. You can get this mono-chromatic look by layering different shades of the same hue.

Holiday Wishlist

Yay for Holiday wishlists!

Yes, I maybe channeling your grampa... but for this next year I am going to expand my fashion and create a 'new generation' with my style... Sort of my own personal way of mixing old and new.
(I confess... I also maybe channeling a bit of 'Mad Men'... new season please arrive sooner!! ha)

I absolutely loveeee these colors together! The crash of orange and burnt red warm up my holiday season and can be staple pieces for the rest of the year. Anyone that knows me.. knows I'm a sucker for fedoras... so this classic black felt fedora with a simple bow detail is a key piece for my wardrobe. Top off the look with layered jewelry and comfy men's inspired loafers and I'm set! OH and lets not forget the gorgeous tortoise Michael Kors watch.. I mean really?? That man's a genius!

Window Shopping: The Bergdorf Goodman Way

A-mazing!

A few weeks ago, I was lucky to see these beautiful windows up close in NYC with my parents. If it wasn't for my immense hunger for our dinner reservation, I could very possibly still be there in front of Bergdorf Goodmans! I love how they made me feel as if I was personally invited to step right into their novel and dream. The amount of detail and talent the crew puts into each window is nothing less than remarkable. Its no wonder why hundreds of people come from all over to catch a glimpse of them!

I hope these photos take you on a fairy-tale journey... as they did for me.

Take a look at this behind-the-scenes video! :)
